Wonderful

The staff. The convenience of the location. The room was comfortable.

Our room was dark as the window looked out over a small interior space. But as we spent all our time out, it wasn't important.

Highly Recommended!

The people make the difference! The personnel were super attentive and polite despite the fact that I only stayed one night. I was also able to leave my luggage there for several hours after checkout. The room, the linen and the bathroom were clean, as well as the hotel's common spaces. There is a nice retro feeling about the hotel that I enjoyed. The single room I stayed in had a twin bed, a window, a mini fridge and a safe and was very spacious. It was also very quiet, but I may have been lucky because I noticed that the sound isolation between rooms was not very good. Most importantly however, there was no street noise. The location is optimal, as the hotel is situated in a quiet alley in the historical center, just a brief walk from all the important attractions. The hotel offers buffet breakfast for a reasonable price, however it was not very rich and I didn't go for it. Overall highly recommended, especially for short stays and if the mattresses are better in other rooms, would be ok for long stays as well.

The mattress was not the most comfortable. Furthermore I couldn't get the room to be completely dark, as the shutter wouldn't close and the curtains were not very thick.

Quirkily decorated hotel which is ideal for a stay in Bologna! Highly recommended.

Lovely stay at this centrally located hotel in Bologna. The two staff members I met were very friendly and efficient, the bed was super comfy, breakfast was fantastic, and I thought the price per night was sensible. Planning to return to Bologna in the autumn and I will definitely stay at Il Canale again (if there are rooms available!)

The wifi worked downstairs, but not in my room. Not a major problem though.

A good place to stay in Bologna with great staff whom were happy and helpful.

Great service upon our arrival, with our host providing us with maps and information about the area. Was accommodating with our luggage after checkout to enable us to visit a few more historic sites prior to leaving Bologna. Service with a smile 5 x stars.

Airconditioning in the room struggled with current heatwave, but guess that can be expected in current circumstances.

Wonderful

It was cosy and staff were friendly. The location was great for visiting the old town very close to a main shopping street. Breakfast was nice with good italian coffee, cheeses, meats and pasties as well as fruit, yoghurts and cereal. Single room was small but well equipped and nicely decorated. The fridge was great to have with the hot weather.

No bread rolls to go with the meats and cheeses at breakfast. The single room was a little small: not much room for storing a suitcase but otherwise good.

the hotel could do better considering the location.

great location, very clean room, very comfortable bed. good ventilation.

a proper coffee machine in the room is a must these days. at this price there should have one. the breakfast coffee is undrinkable. Breakfast was very uninspiring.
